I Really want a Hayabusa

A couple of street portraits shot on slightly expired Portra 400

John was recently knocked off his motorbike. Now he’s got a gammy left leg, soft tissue damage from the crash. We talked bikes, from Fireblades to Ducati’s but his heart is set on a Hayabusa.

I almost bumped into David at the corner of a deserted shop, fag on and rolled up newspaper tucked under his arm. We got talking about the inevitable virus, “We just gotta accept it and adapt.” He said with a calming smile and a hint of slight southern accent.

He was keen to engage and let me take some portraits, asking what I was doing as I took a light reading and set my aperture. “Why are you doing this?” he asked. “Is it for a magazine or a paper?” No, I just enjoy taking photos of interesting people like you.

Shot on expired Portra, wish I’d stopped down a least one stop. Mamiya RZ67 Proii / Kodak Portra 400
